Clovermead’s Gift Shop is full of “sweet” treats. Come and sample the 6 different floral sources of honey and compare the uniqueness of each kind. If you bring your own container, we can fill it with your favourite honey.
Clovermead’s 24 million bees work hard everyday to provide you with Clovermead’s famous Summer Blossom Honey. Clovermead also has 12 different honey spreads, from cinnamon, maple, lemon to an interesting root beer honey spread, all made with Summer Blossom creamed honey. While you are sampling the honey at the honey bar, you can enjoy the aroma of beeswax in the store. Clovermead Gift shop also has pollen, propolis, royal jelly, beeswax candles, all natural hand creams and skin care products, homemade jams, homemade granola, loose tea, gourmet coffee bags, maple syrup and much more. We work hard to offer you a true country retail experience, where you can purchase all types of honey products and gifts straight from the source.
Honey Facts:
Did you know that in order for a bee to make one pound of honey, she needs to visit 2 million flowers or fly 55,000 miles? All of Clovermead’s honey is unpasteurized so all the essential goodness of honey is kept.
Honey is great in tea, coffee, on ice cream, on cereal, muffins and bagels
Substitute sugar for honey by decreasing the sugar amount by ¼ cup.
Honey: Goldenrod, Summer Blossom, Basswood, Summer Blossom Creamed, Sweet Clover, Buckwheat, Wild Blueberry. Each flower has an unique nectar which the bees collect and convert into honey. The taste and color vary and the darker the honey, the more nutrients. All of Clovermead’s honey is unpasteurized. Clovermead sells in 500g, 1 kg, 2 kg, 5 kg and 30lb pails. Bring your own clean container to be filled for savings!

Pollen
Pollen is what we call the bees “bread”. Pollen is collected from the flowers by the honey bees and the bees add their own ingredients including nectar (honey). Pollen contains all the nutrients you need to live: amino acids, high concentration of B vitamins complex Folic Acid, Lactoflavin, Vitamin A,C,E, potassium, magnesium, calcium, copper, iron, silica, phosphorus, sulfur, cholorine, magnese.
Pollen is reported to help with: allergies, anemia, blood builder, impotence, infertility, kidney disorder, menopausal symptoms, prostrate diseases, and ulcers.

Propolis
Propolis is a sticky resin that seeps from the buds of some trees and oozes from the bark of other trees. Propolis is a proven nutritional supplement, helpful for fighting infections because of the antibacterial properties.
Research shows that it offers antibiotic, antiseptic, antibacterial and antiviral properties. Studies have indicated those who take Propolis regularly escape winter colds, sore throats and seem to develop a natural immunity to common viruses. Return to top of page.
Royal Jelly Royal Jelly is a substance that young worker bees produce to feed the Queen Bee and developing larvae.
Royal Jelly contains the vitamins A, B-complex, C, D, E, Vitamins B-1, B-2, B-6, B-12. Royal Jelly also contains acetylcholine which is needed to transmit nerve messages from cell to cell. Royal Jelly also contains gamma globulin which stimulates the immune system and fights infection.
