Clovermead 2013 Events

Summer Days with the Beekeeper

Every day in July & Aug, at any time between 11 am and 2 pm, Monday through Saturday. Spend some time with the beekeeper and see a beehive opened up for you personally.

Just show up,for your opportunity to meet the Queen of the hive, see new bees hatching, try pumping the bellows of the bee smoker, or perhaps if you dare you can hold a sting-less drone bee.

It is safe for you and your family because your able to stand behind a screened observation area.

It is educational so ask all the bee questions that you can think of. (Not available during Bee Beard event or during rain)

Clovermead's 9th Annual
Bee Beard Competition & Pioneer Games
Saturday July 27, 2013 (rain date Aug. 10), 9am-5:30pm

Four teams of beekeepers compete for the title of Bee Beard Champion. Using live honeybees with real stingers, they adorn their faces with crawling bees and strut down the catwalk to perform in front of the judges and the crowd.

Competition starts at 2:30 pm.

Admission:
$11/person (+tax)
Group of 5: $50 (+tax)

Includes access to all the Adventure Farm fun! Wagon rides, bee barrel train rides, huge jumping pillow, pedal go carts, music, animals and bushels of fresh family fun on the Adventure Farm! You can start your farm experience early, opens at 9 am and closes at 5:30 pm.

From 12:30-2:30 pm, just before the Bee Beard Competition, , we are hosting Pioneer Games. Come out and try with your friends... Nail Pounding, Two person Cross Cut Sawing, Potato Sack Races, Seed Spitting, Potato on a Spoon race, and Human Buggy Races.

Included with your Adventure Farm Admission.

Come and see how honey is harvested from the hive, dip your own beeswax candle, safely see a live bee hive opened, and ask your questions. A Bee Beard demonstration at 2:30 pm. Don’t forget the wagon rides, bee barrel train rides, jumping pillow, pedal go carts, music, animals and buckets of fresh family fall fun on the Adventure Farm!

Clovermead Pumpkin Festival
Come celebrate the world of pumpkins, when the bees are tucked away in their hives, come out and play. Pick your-own pumpkin from the field, the great pumpkin drop from the windmill tower, pumpkin seed spitting contest, apple sling shot, a pumpkin cannon show, tractor wagon rides, animals, straw bale fort, and huge jumping pillow. Bushels of fresh family fun on our Adventure Farm.
