4th Annual Bee Beard Festival

July 26, 2008 to July 26, 2008

Beekeeper Olympics start at 1:30, beekeepers demonstrate their skills at squeezing honeycomb, lighting smokers, suiting up quick, and building bee boxes, and catching bees.

At 2:30 the bee beard competition kicks off, when the beekeepers are weighed and sent into the tents to get loaded up with bees. If you think razor burn is uncomfortable you should see these itchy bee beards. After 20 minutes grooming the bees into place, the beekeepers are weighed again and each takes their turn to dance down the catwalk. The judge determines the best beard, and the coveted trophy is awarded.

Live music 1-4 pm.

Wagon rides, bee barrel train rides, face painting, honey tasting, and plenty of photo opportunities with the beekeepers. Fun for the family, $6 admission.
